Green Guard – Loved by Students and Appreciated by Teachers

In March 2016 LVDI International launched the Green Guard magazine in association with our Little Green Guards® program in Nepal. It is the nation’s first nature conservation magazine written by children for children. Since the inception of the Green Guard we have received top praise from countless teachers and parents about the magazine’s impact on children’s knowledge about and empathy toward animals. Recently Mr. Shiva Prasad Aryal, the Principal of Kaushal English Boarding School in Tarkeshwor, formally thanked LVDI International and our Green Guard editorial team in an open letter. He writes,

I am delighted to express my gratitude to LVDI International, Nepal for working on various conservation activities to increase empathy towards wildlife. Our students have been enthusiastically participating in outreach and education activities conducted by them. The celebrations of World Environment Day, Biodiversity Day, Macaque Day, other special awareness campaigns and exhibitions et cetera, all have played a great role in increasing their knowledge about conservation. The Green Guard school magazine is also a platform for the students to express their creativity, and foster originality of thoughts and perceptions in them. The complimentary distribution of the Green Guard (Hariyalee Rakshyak) helps share this knowledge. I extend my sincere thanks to the Green Guard (Hariyalee Rakshyak) team.

Thank you.

Our Little Green Guards® continue to be avid contributors and readers of the magazine. They are impatiently anticipating the soon to be published 15th issue, the latest product of their hard work. With almost 100,000 copies distributed, the Green Guard has become the most popular children’s conservation magazine in Nepal!
